Things to Do in Asheville
Asheville, located in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains, is known for its vibrant arts scene, sweeping mountain views, local breweries and food scene!
There is so much that you can do in Asheville, here are a few of our personal favorites when we are in the area! Feel free to text us with any questions or personal recommendations.
Post-hurricane Helene, Asheville is finally open and ready for visitors to shop small, eat local and enjoy this beautiful town!

There are still many more breweries in the area, but these are just our personal favorites. If you've heard of others, check them out - there's a ton of great options!
Wicked Weed Brewery:One of Asheville’s most popular/famous breweries. Has inside and outside seating plus a full food menu!
Burial Beer Co: Whit's favorite Asheville brewery for their interesting and tasty beers (think flavorful IPAs, saisons, and gose beers). Smaller inside space, but an awesome outdoor space to enjoy great weather and stage for live music.
Wedge Studios: Incredible outdoor atmosphere overlooking the French Broad River in the River Arts District. Sadly, their Foundation location just down the road didn’t make it through the hurricane.

Asheville is known for their breweries, but don't underestimate the cocktail scene!
Antidote at Chemist Spirits: Right next to the Funkatorium, a really cool old-school vibe with great cocktails.
Crow & Quill: Funky intimate spot with speakeasy vibes and great whiskey selections
The Times Bar & Coffee Shop: High vaulted ceilings in a historic building - great for craft coffee or cocktails
Top of the Monk: Super cool rooftop craft cocktail spot.

Asheville has really incredible restaurants. You really can't go wrong, but here are few of our go-to spots
Forestry Camp: An awesome spot by Burial Brewery with great food and great vibes.
Chai Pani: Indian street food and James Beard best restaurant in America 2022. Let's just say: you gotta go.
Early Girl Eatery: A favorite brunch spot in Asheville - Really great vibe and delicious food.
Chestnut: Great dinner spot right in the heart of downtown.
All Day Darling: Super cool, casual spot with hearty breakfast plates, salads and sandwiches with a patio.
Haywood Commons: West Asheville spot with a great patio for drinks and food!
Tupelo Honey Cafe: The original location - it’s now expanded across the southeast but still a cool spot.
-
Asheville is so much more than breweries and restaurants! There is so much to explore
Battery Park Book Exchange: Super cool old bookstore (they also serve drinks inside) and is inside the Grove Arcade, a great shopping spot.
Explore French Broad and River Arts areas: Sadly this area was greatly affected by the hurricane, and many of the cool galleries, artist studios and shops were destroyed — but several places are still open!
Explore Local Shops: Molly’s favorites include East Fork Pottery, There There, Yewo Collective, and Flora
Explore West Asheville: the more ‘alternative’ spot now that downtown is getting more popular. Favorite spots: Battle Cat Coffee, Haywood Common, and Sunny Point Cafe
Head out on a hike: There are so many great trails around the area, especially with the Blue Ridge Parkway and Mountains to Sea Trail. Some trails are still closed, make sure to check online before heading out!

We absolutely love Black Mountain, a cozy mountain town just 20 minutes east of Asheville. We frequently stay and explore this town when in the area. It's a true GEM! Here's a few favorite spots to check out:
Dynamite Coffee: Whit's FAVORITE coffee roaster in North Carolina - Molly loves their lattes and Chai!
Pisgah Brewery: Great outdoor brewery spot, especially when they have live music happening.
Louise's: awesome brunch and lunch spot in a house-setting.
Oak and Grist: Distillery with great cocktails in a renovated warehouse atmosphere.
Wander the downtown: Filled with shops, bookstores, galleries and great food and drink spots, we love to pickup a coffee and wander!
Hike Lookout Trail: A short drive into the Montreat area, this hike is a shorter, but somewhat steep and rocky hike with incredible views.
